Recipe: Apple Cider Vinegar Drinks (3 Ways)

In my last post, I talked about all the different sources of probiotics, why they are important and how they have helped me. As promised, I put together my three favorite ways to drink Apple Cider Vinegar With the Mother. ACV obviously has a very strong taste so each recipe contains one tablespoon only. Like anything, ACV should not be consumed in excess and can lead to health problems when consumed in large amounts frequently. So, why does it have to be Apple Cider Vinegar With the Mother?

The mother refers to the enzymes and probiotic organisms that float in the bottom of apple cider vinegar batches that are unpasteurized. It is simply the culture that actually turned apple cider into vinegar in the first place. Because of these helpful organisms, we can use ACV to do things like promote a healthy digestive tract and a stronger immune system. I use Bragg’s Organic Apple Cider Vinegar.  Before pouring, I always gently swish around the contents of the bottle by twisting it upside-down and back to an upright position, just so all the good stuff is equally dispersed.

Each drink is fit for a different person, based on their flavor and sweetness preference. I used one teaspoon of Truvia for the first two recipes. However, it can be replaced with about a tablespoon of sugar, or more depending on your sweetness preference.

I’ll start with the most “strong” drink. This is something I would power down in a rush or if I wanted to really bring my body back into balance.

Classic Apple Cider Vinegar Drink with Lemon

  • 1 cup of water
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar With the Mother
  • 1 teaspoon Truvia or sugar to taste

Combine ingredients in your favorite drink cup, stir well, add ice & a straw. Enjoy!

 

Next, is my personal favorite. The mango is interchangeable with any juice of your choice!

Mango Tango With a Twist

  • 1:1 Ratio of mango juice to water (I used 1 cup of Amazing Mango by Bolthouse Farms)
  • 1 teaspoon Truvia or sugar to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar with the Mother

Combine ingredients in your favorite drink cup, stir well, add ice & a straw. Enjoy!

 

Lastly, the most simple and sweet of all:

Wangy Tangy Crystal Light

  • 1 teaspoon Crystal Light powder (Use any flavor you want! For this picture, I used Strawberry Orange Banana)
  • 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar with the Mother
  • 2 cups of water

Combine ingredients in your favorite drink cup, stir well, add ice & a straw. Enjoy!

 

If you’re new to Apple Cider Vinegar, I would suggest the Wangy Tangy Crystal Light be your first drink to try just because it is the sweetest and most traditional juicy drink for summer.
